Habitel Care Foundation has contributed relief materials worth over N1,000,000.00 (one million naira) to the recently flood affected communities of Edo State.

Several communities across Etsako Central and Etsako east have been sacked by flood occasioned by the River Niger over flowing its bank. Properties worth millions of naira was lost in the process as the ravaging flood destroyed houses, household properties as well as crops in the affected communities farmland. Over 300,000 people were rendered homeless as a result of the flood.

Affected communities include Udaba, Anegbette, Udochi, Osomeigbe, Agbavu, Ukpeko, Ofukpo and some parts of Agenebode. People from affected communities are being currently housed in Primary/Secondary schools in non affected areas.

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA); The State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomole as well as other stake holders visited the affected communities for on the spot assessment of the extent of damage caused by the flood. The Comrade Governor was seen by Afemai people over flying the affected communities with a helicopter.
